Your website can develop a wide range of bugs. It can be something surface level, such as content or images not loading properly, or something hidden, like broken links or a faulty plugin. You might also not be able to access your site for a number of reasons, including lost details or a successful hacking attempt.
If you’re a business owner or agency, you’ll have likely used a web developer to create your site in the first place. So if there’s an issue, they’re the first person you get in touch with to get it sorted.
If they then jump into action and fix it, great! If they aren’t available, or aren’t answering your messages, you need website rescue services.
Some bugs are easily fixable, but you can’t access your site to handle it yourself. A lot of developers keep the logins to your site, often so that they’re the only person who can make changes.
This is super annoying. It’s your site, with your name on it, so why can’t you gain access? I’ve heard this exact thing from a number of my clients, but they soon brighten when I show them what I can do.
I’ll help you to gain access to your site. Consider me a digital locksmith who will make you a new set of keys that you can use whenever your developer isn’t available, or if you decide to take the reins for yourself. Some developers leave the work half-finished, and it’s down to professionals like me to come in and pick up where they left off.
If your web developer has vanished, I can step in and make sure everything they did is top-notch. Even the most expensive devs can cut corners, which can make your website work poorly. If they messed something up, it could even be vulnerable to a cyber-attack.
A hacked website is a scary scenario. Even if there is no valuable customer information, losing control and watching helplessly as someone unknown messes with your site is something all business owners dread.

Some developers are just lazy, but others are a lot more malicious.
This is most common with agencies. They’ll ‘finish’ your website, but hold it hostage to force you to pay more. It sounds like a scam, but it’s a lot more common than you may think, and a team you trusted can suddenly turn mean.
If you’ve poured your heart and soul into your website, this can be disheartening to say the least. Don’t worry, it’s not as bad as it looks, and I can get you access straight away, no matter what the agency is trying to claim.
Some business owners inherit their websites, as they take over another business or domain. If those sites have been sat gathering dust for a while, or were never finished in the first place, there will be a lot of work needed to get them looking good.
No matter what bugs you’re dealing with, the start of the process is the same. First I meet with you to establish what you need. If you’re in a rush to get things back on track, I understand that it can be tempting to skip this step, but the more I understand the quicker I can work.
Then I need access to your website. By this point I’m no longer a stranger, but I understand why you may hesitate to allow someone new to get into the inner workings of your database. With some clients I offer to sign an NDA, giving them peace of mind.
Once I’ve identified the problem(s), I can report back and we can discuss the next step.
Some rescue jobs are fairly simple, taking an hour or two at most. Others are more complicated, or there may be multiple repairs needed. This affects how I provide reports. If it was an easy fix, it can be an email or message asking you to log in and check things out. When it’s more complicated, it’s much easier for us to jump on a video call so I can share my screen and talk you through the changes.
Although you’ll be leaving me to it for most of the job, I still like to keep you in the loop as much as possible.
